The 12th Principle of Animation is Appeal, which can vary from person to person. What appeals to one may not appeal to another. I am embedding a few of my favorite cartoons from when I was a child. I think they appealed to me because they were silly and heroic. I also liked them because they weren't always on. They were part of a show that had many different cartoons and this one wasn't always featured so it seemed "rare" and made me want to see it more. In addition to what the characters looked like I also think I really liked the music that went with the animation.
I couldn't resist including two favorites from my childhood. This one is Bugs Bunny, who is a very appealing character because of his wise-cracking. This episode in particular is one I loved, because I loved gangster movies as well. This episode has caricatures of some of my favorite gangster movie characters with Bugs. Love it! It is appealing because of the storyline and the way the characters are drawn, exaggerating their characteristics from the movies they were pulled from.
